New Scanner Update: monitor changes to product regulation with ease
Scanner, our automated tool for regulatory monitoring, has expanded its coverage to 18 regulatory areas, now including the newly added Product Regulation regulatory area.

Products must meet mandatory safety, environmental, health, and performance standards before they can enter a market or be sold to consumers or other businesses. These rules vary by jurisdiction and product type, but the main aim is to protect consumers, businesses, the environment, and ensure products are fit for purpose. These rules usually relate to physical/tangible products, but more recently, in places like the EU, software, AI and other digital systems are being caught under product regulation.

Scanner's new regulatory area will be tracking 50 additional authorities and will cover the following main topics:
  • Product safety;
  • Product recall;
  • Product liability;
  • Product labelling and packaging;
  • Product testing, certification and authorisation; and
  • Environmental standards and requirements.
